The different names that has been proposed for the society, together with the comments about each of them.
- SCI : Society of Chemical Insight
Simple, short and describes what the society should be.
- ISIC : International Society of Chemical Insight
Still quite simple and it emphasises the international character.
- ISIRS : International Society for Insight into Reactivity and Structure
Phonetically Ai'SIRS. This acronym is all inclusive (not restricted to chemical bonding) and have a nice ring.
- SIRES : Society for Insight into Reactivity and Structure
Phonetically SaiRES. Also all inclusive (not restricted to chemical bonding) and have a nice ring.
- SICB : Society of Insight and Chemical Bonding
- ISCB : International Society of Chemical Bonding
