The different names that has been proposed for the society, together with the comments about each of them.


  • SCI : Society of Chemical Insight

Simple, short and describes what the society should be.


  • ISIC : International Society of Chemical Insight

Still quite simple and it emphasises the international character.


  • ISIRS : International Society for Insight into Reactivity and Structure

Phonetically Ai'SIRS. This acronym is all inclusive (not restricted to chemical bonding) and have a nice ring.


  • SIRES : Society for Insight into Reactivity and Structure

Phonetically SaiRES. Also all inclusive (not restricted to chemical bonding) and have a nice ring.


  • SICB : Society of Insight and Chemical Bonding


  • ISCB : International Society of Chemical Bonding
