Visas

Most foreign nationals will need a visa to enter Vietnam. Please check in advance with the Vietnamese embassy or consulate in your home country. Some foreign passport holders will not need an entrance visa. Please check the list of visa exempt countries provided by the Consular Department - Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An official conference invitation letter will be sent to all the participants by email at the end of February.

In the case you need a visa, you may choose to apply for a Vietnamese visa on your own or through an agency, such as http://www.myvietnamvisa.com/ which is quite convenient, but with a service fee.

On the other hand, we will be happy to apply for visa(s) for you and your companions in the Immigration Department in Hanoi. In this case, please fill out Fichier:VisaForm.rtf (or its PDF format Fichier:VisaForm.pdf) and return to us by email at least 6 weeks before your date of arrival. Please also attach a scan of your passport.

When your visa is approved, we will send the visa approval letter (issued by the Immigration Department) to you for further processing. You can then pick up your visa either

1) at a Vietnamese consulate in your country of residence or in a third country, or

2) at a Vietnamese international airport of your entry in Vietnam.

In case 1): You need to submit a visa application to the Vietnamese consulate of your choice, with the given visa approval letter in order to get the visa.

In case 2): You do not need to do anything else before arrival. Just look for “Visa On Arrival” office when arrived at the Vietnamese international airport, where you can collect your visa (the stamping fee is 45 USD per visa, paid by cash at the airport).
