Excursions proposed by the participants

If you want to participate to any of the excursions proposed by the participants, please use the contact indicated for the excursion, and add your name to the doodle list . The latter is meant only to let one see who else has decided to go on a given trip. For participating, or for obtaining more information, please get in touch with the contact person.

All excursions below are planned. However, the excursion around Mt Kailash (excursion number 4) requires acclimatization, for which the Langtang trip (excursion number 3) is planned.

A brochure about hypoxia and acclimatization is available in French. A short summary:

1) The elevation of Kathmandu is of ~1400 m.

2) At 5000 m the oxygen available decreases to half of that at sea level.

3) Nothing replaces acclimatization.

4) Acclimatization takes time.
